September 2026 Updates

Hi! We’ve recently had our mailing list host disappeared, so we can’t send out normal mailing list posts right now. (Don’t worry! We have our member list, so we’ll migrate to a new mailing list host soon, it’s merely annoying.) That said, we wanted to share a few updates:

• We now have more than 220 members! Much of our activity is in the Narwhal Slack, but fun things do occasionally happen on the mailing list. (Want to join the Slack? Members will get a new link soon once we migrate the mailing list.)
• We skipped doing Field Day in 2026 due to a conflict with ToorCamp, but we’ll be back in 2027; we’re hoping to pick a park more central in Washington this time, rather than doing the ocean again. We’ll finalize plans in late September! Now that 1A stations can host a GOTA transmitter, we’ll need more operators than ever, and we’ll certainly have some sort of hijinks and weird art things. (Possibly more well-thought-out than previous years! Possibly.)
• We’re looking for suggestions for a 2027 on-the-air event, following up on 2025’s Polio on the Air!
